Funerals are never a pleasant occasion. No matter how unpleasant, it is still part of the cycle of life. Funeral Directors’ and their staff can and do make a major difference for the family. Recently, with the passing of my Aunt, I met Barry Brewer for the first time. From my very first meeting and throughout the funeral process, I felt very comfortable, being surrounded by Barry Brewer and dedicated members of his funeral staff. Thank you for everything you did for my Aunt and for me. I will always remember, the white glove greetings and the releasing of white doves. It turned out to be a beautiful day.
Thank you to everyone at Brewer and Sons for helping our family through the most difficult months of our lives. We appreciate everything you did to ensure that everything got done in a professional and thoughtful manner and in the time constraints we had.
Thank you so much for the wonderful comments. It is such an honor to be able to assist you and your family through this very difficult time. Our prayers continue to be you and your family.
My mother was buried at Bushnell National Cemetery, and my father had plans to be buried there also, having served in WWII. However when the new Cape Canaveral National Cemetery recently opened up in Mims, Dad decided he wanted Mom closer (he lived in Melbourne). Dad died suddenly and unexpectedly on March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day, Mom called him home to be with her Irish family). I made phone calls the next day and by the grace of God, and a lot of help from Joy, at Brewer’s funeral home and Colleen at Bushnell we were able to have Mom transferred to Cape Canaveral to be buried with Dad 10 days later. I understand this process can take 3 months, so it is astounding that this happened. Joy was marvelous to work with, immediately emailed the paperwork for my sister (in Melbourne) and me (in Spokane, WA) to complete, notarize and send to Bushnell. When the time came to transfer Mom, Barry was on vacation (hope you found great powder in Colorado for that ski trip), but Mr. Brewer (Pat) , Sr. oversaw the disinterment and accompanied Mom to Mims (Cape Canaveral). I was not able to meet Mr. Brewer at the time, to tell him how much I appreciated his firm’s excellent work, but it such a wonderful feeling to be able to be at the committal pavilion with Dad and look over across a small area and see Mom’s blue coffin waiting to join Dad’s. It was such a peaceful feeling that all the friends and family were able to enjoy at such a sad time. Thank you all for your compassion and professionalism in making this miracle happen. I most sincerely appreciate you.
My brother Steve Nissen’s funeral was performed extremely professionally and flawlessly. Thank you to everyone
Brewer and sons made this unbearable and unimaginable day bearable. Everything was perfect for my mom. The staff was so kind and caring. I felt welcomed and cared about while planning the ceremony, during the ceremony and when picking up the final items. The funeral staff truly take care of your loved one and do not try to overcharge you during this painful process.
My sister Sidney and I just got back from visiting the cemetery (Historic Masaryktown Cemetery), and I just had to write you to let you know how beautiful everything is looking out there. It has never looked that good. You are doing a fabulous job!!!
“Thank You” to you and everyone else at Brewer’s for taking such good care of our cemetery.
Under past scrupulous owners, my parents prepaid cremation services. Upon my mother’s recent death we were not able to locate any of the five contact numbers we had for American Burial & Cremation at the Dunedin address. My father was stressed enough and did not need more. We had to choose another Cremation Service Company who took the time to contact Brewer & Sons regarding our prepaid plan and they immediately found our contract from the past owners files and proceeded to work with the other company to transport my mother, work with us and complete the arrangements as originally made. They were professional and friendly throughout the visits. Compliments to Barry Brewer and the newest member Ron for guiding us so efficiently. I know there was an extreme pricing difference from our plan paid in 1995 but they gave us the same quality of service as if we had purchased it from them today. I thank the entire staff for easing our stress at this time. It was and is greatly appreciated. The Iris Collamer Family
Dear Mr. Brewer:
Thank You so much for offering to help with K-9 cremation/burial when the situation arises for our agency. Each K-9 is assigned to a K-9 deputy’s family. Our K-9’s become part of the family. When a loss occurs, it is hard for both the family and the agency. It is comforting to know that you are willing to help with final arrangements. Thank You for your support of local law enforcement.

Dear Mr. Brewer, I just want to express my thankfulness to Pastor Thomas Derryberry for his assistance with my grandparent’s headstone. The headstone I chose was a true tribute to them and I am so happy that I was able to do that for them. Pastor Tom was with me every step of the way. I had to communicate from Maryland, which sometimes is not good, but Pastor Tom returned every call and email. I am so thankful to Pastor Tom; Thank You so much for your great service.

On behalf of Kristi, myself and our 3 children – we want to thank you for the compassion and help provided to our family in the loss of our son, Jaret. You have helped us through the most difficult tragedy our family has ever faced. As a minister in Brooksville, I’ve had the privilege to work alongside your staff. And in our time of needing you, we are so grateful for your assistance and how you took care of our son and his cremation. Thank You!
Dear Ms. Ratliff: I want to personally thank you for the holiday treats that were delivered to our main office. The Tin of European chocolate cookies was placed in our break room for all employees to enjoy. An email was sent to all employees to let them know we had treats in the break room from you; a facebook posting was also shared with the community. You might find it comforting to know that here in Hernando County the relationship between local law enforcement and the community are exceptional. We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our community. Thank You for being part of that. We appreciate each and every citizen who supports our efforts to make Hernando County a safer place to live, work and play.

I wanted to thank you for all you did to help us lay baby Gavyn to rest. In the most difficult time of my life, you were so amazing. Your kind words, gentle and understanding approach and your genuine concern, really sets you apart from the rest of the world. You have an amazing staff that takes the same care and Christine really made an impact in my life. If there were to be any good to come out of this horrible tragedy, I would say it was my experience with people like you. It changes my view on society and really restores my faith in humanity. You provided us so much more than a service, you gave us closure. I will forever cherish your glove with the sand from his grave. It means so much! From the bottom of my heart, Thank You! Probably the most difficult review I have had to write, but probably one of the best experiences in customer service I have had in many years. My Mother passed and we were left with the task of selecting a funeral home After visiting three, the choice was easy. The owner worked with our budget to create an amazing service. Every member of the team went above and beyond, from the owner himself, Barry, to his son JR, to Leslie who coordinated all the details with us. Incredible service, professionalism, real empathy for the family. In what was an incredibly difficult time, Brewer & Sons exceeded all expectations in helping our family provide a beautiful service for my Mom.
Thank You to the Brewer staff; each and every one of you! Your thoughtfulness certainly made a difference. We didn’t ask but you came to help us in every way you could for our sad and happy celebration of Margaret Williams life. All of the staff was incredibly courteous and kind. I am extremely thankful to have had you all throughout such a difficult time. Bless all of you for kindness.

You mean so much- not only for being the warm hearted person you are, but also for the generous way you share your time and talents with others. You worked so hard to help make our celebration of life so memorable and wonderful. You went above and beyond. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

As the year was coming to an end, so was my mother’s life. On Dec. 31st, at 9:20 pm, Delores Evelyn Gooden Helm, closed her eyes and made her transition into eternal life. I called Pastor Tom to tell him about my mother’s passing and that I wanted to get her close to her parents. She did not have a prepaid graveside. Not only did he get her close to her parents, but she is in between her two mothers Willie Mae Davenport and Corrine Gooden. That gave us great comfort to know that she was laid to rest beside her loved ones. Thank You so much Mr. Derryberry for all your incredible assistance from beginning to end.

I want to thank you for all the time you spent with my family. Explaining each step helped us make decisions and feel in control of a very hard situation. Thank you for arranging everything, down to her final wishes. Having the funeral at the church she attended for over 50 years was important to the family. Your suggestion to make a DVD with photos worked out very well as family and friends enjoyed viewing it during the calling hours. Once again, Thank You all for everything!
We appreciate the kindness of all of the staff during and after the funeral for my grandma. She was a special lady and I am thankful that everything went smoothly. The family appreciated all the attention to detail, even the snacks that were on hand, before and after the service. We were overwhelmed with emotion with last minute details and final arrangements, and Brewer and Sons were there to guide us every step of the way. Even kept us fed and hydrated as best as they could! I will always be forever grateful for all that you did for our family. Thank You!
Words cannot properly express the thankfulness in my heart for all the wonderful help and generous spirit you shared with me after my father’s death last month. Every smile and gesture was sorely appreciated I wish every funeral home had staff so wonderfully gracious and giving and thoughtful as you.
I want to thank you and your staff for their professional and caring work in overseeing the details of my husband’s passing. From the moment I contacted you on the night he died until the time you helped load the flowers into our car the day after his services, I knew we were in good hands. I cannot begin to understand the thought, care and training that goes into the work that you do, but I can tell you that you and your staff brought great comfort to me, my family, friends and associates.
I wanted to thank you for you being there to help me through one of the most difficult times in my life. From the first time you came to my home, the night my husband died, you were caring, kind, understanding, professional and you just took so much of the responsibilities off my shoulders. Your suggestions were all so appreciated, especially the military part of the service. Can not tell you how much my family was impressed with your personal touch. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for everything!
When mother passed, we were left with many unanswered questions. Overwhelmed with so many different emotions, we simply did not know were to start. From our first meeting with our funeral director, down to the very last detail of the funeral service; everything was executed beautifully. The art department did a beautiful job customizing our prayer cards and video tribute. We are extremely grateful and thankful to all the Brewer and Sons staff, for all your love and support through such a difficult time.
